Overview of Autonomous Driving
An autonomous driving system is formally defined as a mechanism capable of independently operating a vehicle or moving body without manual intervention.
In addition to the practical implementation of such systems, progress is also being made toward the seamless integration of autonomous vehicle technology into the traffic environment with the aims of reducing accidents and congestion, and bringing people to their destinations even more safely and in greater comfort than ever before, without the need for driver operation.
The JSAE Chubu Branch has organized an autonomous driving-themed exhibit as a forum for visitors to learn and experience mobility technologies in new fields, with the objective of creating a wide-ranging showcase for new technological areas.
This exhibition provides an overview of autonomous driving, introduces some related technologies and products with a particular focus on companies in the Chubu region, and offers an opportunity for visitors to test ride some of the latest autonomous vehicles.
